Infinite Frenemies is the latest digital-first edition of the DC Super Hero Girls series, now written by
Amanda Deibert and drawn by Erich Owen. The series, in a variety of media, has been a strong performer in attracting young female readers to the characters, by remaking them into a high school setting. As it is a digital first, more die-hard superhero fans people have been picking it up right now. Which mean there was more than the usual reaction to the name of Metropolis' latest and brightest nighttime hotspot, from a time before shutdown. Welcome to The Lazarus Pit.
The Lazarus Pit, as any fule kno, is a series of naturally occurring phenomena in the DC Universe, usually controlled by Ra'a Al Ghul, which can heal people or bring them back from the dead, though often in a twisted form. So what a perfect name for a mosh pit night club in the heart of Metropolis, for Supergirl to enjoy?
It appeared briefly before in a DC Super Hero Girls animated short back in 2019, Hard Rock. But this marked its first appearance and naming in the comic book version.
Leaving Kara as the last Supergirl standing, and in need of early morning sustenance.
Okay, so Sweet Justice as a dessert restaurant isn't as good a DC Comics name as The Lazarus Pit. Sugar Spike? Paradise Ice Cream? New 52 Flavors? Okay, maybe Sweet Justice is fine. Do you have any alternatives? Let us know on Facebook. Oh and for those who need it… Supergirl Vs Wonder Woman, playing a friendly.
DC Super Hero Girls: Infinite Frenemies #1 is available now, with #2 in a few days.
Kara is excited to have a whole weekend to herself to get up to all kinds of moshing mayhem, but the other girls keep interrupting her "me time." When Kara's wish for solitude comes true as one by one the girls become obsessed with a new app that was just released, it's up to Supergirl to save Metropolis-and the girls-on her own!
