But Marvel should know that you can’t always get what you want.
Chelsea Cain continues to weigh in on the cancellation of her six issue Vision sequel ahead of its November release. Bleeding Cool reported earlier today that the comic had been canceled, apparently due to unspecified future plans for the characters. Later, Cain took to Twitter to reveal that the team had already completed 4 of the 6 issues.
Now, Cain has taken to Twitter once again to tell her followers that Marvel asked her to keep the cancellation “clean and quiet.” But, er… spoiler alert…
.@Marvel asked me to keep this "clean and quiet" because apparently they've never met me. HI, GUYS, I'M THE ONE WHO'S THE PAIN IN THE ASS. REMEMBER ME NOW?
— Chelsea Cain (@ChelseaCain) September 13, 2018
And to respond to condolences from a fellow pro:
Thanks. Right? Crazy.
— Chelsea Cain (@ChelseaCain) September 13, 2018
And to offer her own sympathies for the artist Aud Koch:
Yeah. I feel really horrible. Just having so many issues banked. @audkoch – the artist – is amazing. So gifted. HIRE @audkoch WORLD. She is a FEMALE COMIC BOOK ARTIST. This was her big break.
— Chelsea Cain (@ChelseaCain) September 13, 2018
Cain also revealed that the comic was set to have quite a few real-life cameo appearances :
Especially since you and Ping were in it!!!

I was so looking forward to the Ping-@KaZarTheCorgi reunion. It was going to be awesome. Also had the @TheDoubleclicks and @paulandstorm and @JoCoCruise. (You were all heroic and articulate and funny.)

As well as to say that plans were in motion for the book even before Tom King’s volume was complete.
I was asked to take over The Vision before Tom King's run was even over. Actually. As soon as they lost him to DC. I agreed out of respect to the material – because Tom King's run was so fucking good. Believe me this decision has nothing to do with restraint.

Finally, Cain urged fans to check out her upcoming Image series, Man-Eaters.
Man-eaters! @ImageComics ALL THE PEOPLE MARVEL FIRED FROM MOCKINGBIRD. So you know it’s going to be good.
— Chelsea Cain (@ChelseaCain) September 13, 2018
That one is in stores in two weeks.
Will we ever learn what really happened here? If the tweets keep flying fast and loose, we could know by tomorrow.
