Octavio Karbank writes for Bleeding Cool,
First appearing in New Mutants #99, the mutant hero known as Shatterstar originally joined with Cable and X-Force to take on all manner of dastardly threats. In recent months, Shatterstar has received a bit of attention, thanks in part to the character receiving a cameo in the Deadpool 2 movie.
Now with a new five-part comic book series underway featuring Shatterstar as the lead, the son of Dazzler and Longshot is getting a long overdue makeover.
Tim Seeley, the writer of the series, revealed today the new design by artist Carlos Vitta. While the look is keeping in tradition with creator Rob Liefeld’s original design, there are a few updates that serve to modernize Shatterstar.
Another lil’ sneak peak. (I’d be afraid we’re showing too much, but we haven’t even revealed the mystery villain yet!) From our October debuting #Shatterstar series. @Cfvillaart ‘s designs for our bad ass hero: pic.twitter.com/WAkCnRIzIW
